What to see inside the Harry Potter Shop on Oxford Street

Look up at the dragon above Gringotts
Diagon Alley sets the scene as you step in from Oxford Street. The shop draws on locations from the books and films, with details to spot as you move between displays. In the Gringotts area, look up to see the Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon perched overhead, a reference to the dragon that guarded the vaults beneath Gringotts Wizarding Bank.
Find the full-sized Knight Bus
Towards the back of the shop, you’ll find a full-sized Knight Bus, modelled on the wizarding transport introduced in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. If you’re visiting for photos, make time for both the bus and the dragon. The dragon is above eye level, while the bus is further inside, so both are easy to miss if you stop after browsing the entrance displays.

Stop for Butterbeer at the Leaky Cauldron
The Oxford Street flagship has its own Leaky Cauldron, a food and drink space inspired by the pub that leads to Diagon Alley. Alongside regular Butterbeer, the menu includes hot and frozen versions, Butterbeer ice cream and treats inspired by the drink. Hot Butterbeer makes a fitting stop on a winter shopping trip, while the frozen version and ice cream give you two ways to try it cold.
How to book the Hogwarts Bear Ceremony
The Hogwarts Bear Ceremony is an interactive experience exclusive to the Oxford Street shop. You start by choosing qualities for your bear, then take part in a ceremony to find out which Hogwarts house it belongs to. Afterwards, you can choose outfits and accessories before taking your bear home in a collector’s box with a certificate of authenticity.
It’s free to reserve a timeslot and the experience costs £75 per bear, payable afterwards. If the ceremony is the main reason for your visit, book your slot before planning the rest of your day. Note that the shop asks guests to arrive five minutes before their booking.
What can you buy exclusively at the Oxford Street shop?
The Oxford Street collection includes a Diagon Alley wand, an exclusive Harry Potter Funko Pop! and a Butterbeer label collection. There’s also MinaLima artwork inspired by Diagon Alley and the Knight Bus, a good place to start if you’re shopping for someone who enjoys the graphic design of the films.
If you’re buying for someone who already knows their Hogwarts house, you can customise a house robe in store. For a gift that needs no house preference, the shop can personalise a Hogwarts Acceptance Letter with the recipient’s name and address. The flagship also carries trunks and notebooks, so you can browse gifts alongside the location-exclusive range.
Do you need to book to visit the Harry Potter Shop?
You can walk into the Harry Potter Shop on Oxford Street without a reservation. If the shop reaches capacity, scan the QR code at the entrance to join the virtual queue. The shop sends a text when it’s your turn, and you’ll have one hour from the notification to return.
Advance booking applies to the Hogwarts Bear Ceremony. If you’re visiting for the shop displays, gifts or Butterbeer, you can plan around the regular opening hours. On Sundays, browsing begins at 11.30am and trading starts at noon.
