Amid the busy streets of Soho, Soho Square Gardens feels like a quiet place to slow down for a while. Shaded by mature trees and surrounded by elegant Georgian buildings, the garden is popular for a coffee break, a takeaway lunch or simply a few peaceful minutes away from the crowds. There are plenty of benches to sit on, and the colourful flower beds add to the relaxed atmosphere.

The Tudor-style hut in the centre of the garden is its most recognisable feature, even though it actually hides an underground electrical substation. A statue of Charles II, dating back to 1681, and the memorial bench for singer Kirsty MacColl are also worth finding during a stroll. The garden can get busy around lunchtime, but it still feels like one of the best places to pause while exploring Soho.
